Painting Services
Repainting around Southfield: refresh the color you have or switch to a new one on walls, trim and exteriors, with patching, prep and clean lines.

Repainting
Repainting comes in two flavors. A refresh keeps the color you already like and brings it back to life, covering scuffs, fading and touch-up spots that never quite matched. A color change gives a room, or a whole exterior, a new look.
A same-color refresh is usually the simpler job. A color change, especially going from dark to light or the other way around, may need primer and extra coats so the old color doesn't show through. Either way the prep is the same: patch, sand, protect and paint with clean lines.
Before and After
This dining room shows what a repaint involves. In the before photo, the old beige walls have been patched, with nail holes and dings filled, and paper protects the floor along the baseboards. In the after photo, the same room has fresh light gray walls and clean white trim, ready for furniture.
The difference comes from the prep as much as the paint: filled holes, sanded patches and a color that covers evenly from corner to corner.

How Often
There's no single answer, because it depends on the room, the paint and how the space is used. Busy areas like hallways, kids' rooms and kitchens tend to need it sooner than a guest bedroom. Outside, the sides that get the most sun and weather usually show wear first.
Instead of counting years, look at the surfaces. Scuffs that won't clean, fading, peeling or chalky paint, and stains are all signs it's time. Repainting before paint starts failing is usually simpler than waiting for bare spots.
Color Changes
Yes. Covering a dark or bold color with a light one takes a little more work, but it's a common repaint. A tinted primer goes on first to block the old color, followed by finish coats until the new color is even, with no shadow of the old one showing.
Going the other way, from light to dark, still benefits from the right primer for deep colors. We plan the number of coats when we look at the walls, so the quote reflects the real job.
Selling or Moving
Fresh paint is one of the simplest ways to get a home ready to list. Neutral colors help buyers picture their own things in the space, and clean walls, trim and doors make rooms photograph better.
Moving into a home is another good time, while the rooms are still empty. Our drywall repair service takes care of bigger damage first.
